Bottoms Up!

The riding crop. Most people are familiar with these in the horsey world. Kinky people look at these in a different light. You either hate them or like them.  If you are partial to a bit of heavy spanking then there is a high chance you might like the idea of having your ass cropped with something such as this one. Riding crops are great, they are not high end priced toys to have in your toybox, they can last for years if they are good quality and you look after them well, and personally from my experience in the horse industry, riding crops last well and get better with a bit of use and age. You can use a crop to caress a body, even better when the submissive is blindfolded to add the extra heightened sensation of anticipation. Light taps to heavy slaps or a slow build up over various areas of the body not just the assumed bottom as most people associate cropping with. They are versatile toys.

I hummed and hahhed over what to write as there’s really not much one can write about a riding crop without it becoming rather boring so I decided instead photographs may well do it more justice than what I can verbally. If you like crops then this one is on my top list, Spartacus never fails to impress me with the quality of their kink toys and this sadistic little beauty is just one more.

This one I have is the Heart Bat and is manufactured by a favourite company of mine as mentioned, Spartacus.  This crop is 25″ in length which is pretty standard as far as regular riding crops go so it’s a good length for playing, and this one also doesn’t have too much give in the handle which means the impacts from this wee beauty are nice and direct and they pull power. We did muck about with this one and found that actually holding the handle still and pulling back on the crop part and letting go delivered more powerful stingy slaps than using the whole arm, all the power transferred straight to my ass in this circumstance. It doesn’t really leave ‘heart shaped’ marks and after looking at it and having a wee giggle it was decided it’s not a heart shape but rather a ‘bottom bending over shape’ :D

It’s not a heavy crop but not overly lightweight either and it gives good control when handling it. It’s not at all flimsy like some crops out there, it’s well made and a sturdy crop. The handle also has a leather casing to enable a better grip and is capped at both ends with chrome covers.  The handle end is tipped with a chrome cap which has the little Spartacus guy on the end which is quite funkeh.

The stitching and workmanship is of excellent quality, the rod has a standard woven stem, the stem itself feels like some form of fibreglass rod but I can’t be 100% sure without pulling it apart,  and the lower crop end is made up of two heart shaped (or bottom shaped) pieces of high quality leather which are stiched together around the base of the rod but not wholey glued or stitched together all around so in essence they are two flaps and with time will soften more and probably creating a slapping sound when used as most do.

The lower crop end is reinforced with thin wire … ths is the one thing that gives this crop evil tendencies. If you miss with the leather part you are likely to impact the skin with this harder wire woven area and could leave some interesting wlets so be careful and practice on a bloody pillow or something if you are not proficient at using a crop.

To look after the leather sections clean with a damp cloth and treat with your favourite leather conditioner when needed. You can get this in black or a red leatherheart to match your freshly cropped buttocks :D

Thanks to Carrie Ann and the team at Eden Fantasys for letting me share this with you guys. Next on the list … my ongoing sharp and pointy obsession … impy gets to play with the Wartenburg Wheel “beams’

Peaceful

It’s been a relatively mellow, vanilla couple of weeks with the little guy having chicken pox and now he’s got the bloody flu so we’ve been housebound since the zoo trip. Hopefully we will go for an adventure on the train and into town to watch a movie at the end of the week then it’s back into uni next week. Arrrghhh. I have ‘Pictorial Studies’ as one of my papers this semester which means a fuckload of drawing. I haven’t really sat down and drawn loads for the past six years so it’s a little daunting but a bit of sketching yesterday and I am keen to get back into it.

We have a freekin mouse infestation atm … we’ve been seeing a mouse of late running amok then the other night I found two cheeky fuckers running about, we got poison and they ate the whole damn container and we still saw mice. Right now in the space of about 24 hours we’ve caught ten of the fuckers in a rat trap. The landlord got a rev up and pest control has now been contacted. It’s a huge house and plenty of space for the little fuckers to set up residence. So yeah … eeewww.

This morning we had three boys running amok making huts with chairs and couches and sheets and playing shooting games with a nerf gun and a couple of ‘el cheapo’ toys and having a blast. Awesome means I can get some shit done without interuptions maybe even try drawing some more.

Nothing much to report here life is quiet which really is a good thing because I fucking hate stress … I have a review coming up for a ‘heart shaped crop’ and just ordered in a wartenburg wheel hehe. Sharp & pointy <3

Objectify Me

Sensory deprivation is a fetish many enjoy indulging in, restricting or controlling one of the five senses. Blindfolds, hoods, earplugs, gags can be used to deprive one of sight, sound, speech and hearing.

They increase the feeling of helplessness or sometimes aid in turning one into a mere object. Sometimes that in itself is hawt.

There is a great deal of trust involved in this type of play and should not be given lightly either. Especially if you are just starting out. Use your noggin … that thing on top of your shoulders that houses      the brain….

I for one love being blindfolded and bound, having one of my senses taken away heightens everything else. I however am completely freaked out by having things over my head. So when I opened a ‘box ‘o’ goodies’ from Carrie Ann I squirmed. A hood sat there grinning at me.

Well if it had a mouth it would have had a sadistic grin staring back at me. Hoods generally freak me the fuck out. I have an issue with claustrophobic spaces and hoods have the same effect. The wonderful thing about the hood I got is it’s suited for beginners who are curious about what a hood would feel like without being completely overwhelming. Hoods are excellent items to have in the kink toy box to heighten arousal, objectify and encourage the whole anticipation aspect. They are also excellent additions in a play party situation where you need the focus more controlled and less distractions of sight involved.

Eden Fantasys stock a couple of hoods from Pipedreams (they make a range of fetish hoods), this one being a Spandex Full Face Hood, they have one with an open mouth as well. It’s also unisex, totally cool for guys and gals.

It’s well made, sewing is tight and boasts a seam that runs down the center of the hood, down the middle of the face is not at all irritating. The hood sports overlocked sticking on the neck area which is double thickness at the base and not likely to come apart in a hurry. Good quality, black spandex material that has a decent amount of stretch but firm in give, breathing and hearing is not restricted and you can make out shadows and outlines of objects in a well lit room but in a darker setting alot harder to really work out what’s around you. So basically it does impair vision enough to have an effect.

The shape indicates the back and the front so you can work out which way around it sits on your head. The box states ‘one size fits most’ and it will be a tighter fit on larger heads, my head isn’t overly huge and it was a tight fit and the bottom part sat midway on my neck. A friend who is a good six foot in height and a bigger head than mine tried it on and it sat directly under his chin so it’s not really designed for larger skulls. It fit me well and my skull is 22inches around so that should give you an idea of size/fitting.

It arrived in a small cardbox box (see image above) which is about the size of a small paperback and not discreet so beware of opening it around people who might feel a little uncomfortable hehe. It had no distinct smell when I unpacked it so there was no immediate need to wash it straight away and it actually feels quite smooth and comfortable on the face, it did squish my nose and my ears were flattened to my skull which just enhanced the whole sensation of wearing a hood. Constricted and squashed. I hate having to just try breathing through my nose so I had my mouth slightly open when it was on.

Because of the material and foldability of the hood is totally travel friendly and can be hand washed with a gentle fabric detergent and air dried. Personally I would treat this as any other delicate if you want to look after your hood well.

So wearing the hood? How does it feel? Like I am not there, I can escape into my own little world for a while. Did I like it? Just quietly … yuppers! I quite like that sensation and I am keen to explore it a little further and see where it takes me. It can get a little warm if you have it on for a while. If you want to enhance the sensory deprivation aspect a little more add a blindfold and/or some earplugs and have fun!

If you are curious about hoods and would like to explore a little sensory deprivation then this hood or the open mouth one could be a gentle introduction before moving onto more serious hoods for BDSM play.
