So I’m sat at a lecture today half asleep when a third year design student rocks on in and tells us all to shut up and listen for 10 minutes. I did listen and after 10 minutes I have decided to aim for a trip overseas next year for something that I won’t regret. Four days of presentations, workshops and social functions with around 40 of the world’s leading talents in design and creativity. There are travelling scholarships available and course related costs can help and I really want to do this. It’s too late this year as I don’t have enough time nor money to organise it but it’s a yearly event so I can do a little planning for next year.

It’s run by the Design Foundation which is a not-for-profit organisation which supports, promotes and enhances professional development for designers and is four days of intensive inspiration and knowledge that I am just not going to get anywhere else. It may not mean much to someone who isn’t into design but for someone like me it’s a total WOW. The student that presented this wee ditty today went last year and judging from her reactions it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am highly likely going to want to do again and again. Next year, Melbourne here I come aaaand the tutors are happy to make it a feasible option along with our studies. We have their full support to do this. Most awesome.
