Well if you don’t know by now a well known actor Patrick Swayze, who I pretty much grew up watching all of his movies, died Sept 14th. He was best known for his parts in the most awesome ‘Dirty Dancing’ and ‘Ghost’ … two wonderfully soppy lovey movies, the one thing that he always seemed to bring with him in his movies was this man with a dark side, a guarded emotional whirlwind of amazing acting with passion. One of those sexy bad boys back when I was a teenager that I was totally obsessed with. I remember quite a few of his movies with the likes of Rob Lowe and yummy Keanu Reeves in Youngblood (based on a group of ice hockey players) …
I think one of the first movies I discovered this most nom actor in was The Outsiders based on the novel by SE Hinton. It was a movie I very much wanted to see after being read the book in school by a very memorable teacher. That one story was one that stuck with me for a very long time and his part in the movie as the older brother along with the likes of Matt Damon … memorable too… If you haven’t watched it do so, it’s one of those movies that will stick with you. It was about the same time I read a book called ‘Go ask Alice’.
And one of my favourite movies evaaaah back in the days where my life revolved around living on a surf beach and hanging out with a bunch of degenerate surfies… Point Break with Keanu Reeves … He played the bad boy Bodhi, I love bad boys, lol I even had this name picked as a name for my son but the partner wouldn’t have it haha…. now man this guy was a bad man but he was also freekin hawt! I have a weakness for guys like this…
There are some movies one watches in a lifetime that remain etched in one’s memory. Rest in peace dude and thank you for being a part of my life in an obscure way. No one else could have done Dirty Dancing the way you did…

Ya, RIP…I loved Patrick too! He was tough to the end…someone wrote about his death that and i’m sure i’ll not get the quote just perfect, but that he had died from cancer, but cancer had not taken his life away….he lived full out to the end.

None of us know how long we actually have on this earth. His passing at such a young age, like others before him and others after him, should serve as reminders to us all to live our lives to the fullest and finest we can. Life is too short and too valuable to allow others to “put baby (ourselves) in the corner”…ANY corner. Just my thoughts.
