A deal with the Devil?

Placebo’s version of “Running Up That Hill” originally by Kate Bush. I fucking love Placebo, they rawk. The song was first released 5 August 1985. The song was originally titled “A Deal with God” but Bush relented and renamed it “Running Up That Hill” due to pressure from the record company and their concerns it wouldn’t sell with the word God in the title, especially religious countries. The song itself has often been misinterpreted. Bush herself has said,

“ I was trying to say that, really, a man and a woman, can’t understand each other because we are a man and a woman. And if we could actually swap each other’s roles, if we could actually be in each others place for a while, I think we’d both be very surprised! [Laughs] And I think it would be lead to a greater understanding. And really the only way I could think it could be done was either… you know, I thought a deal with the devil, you know. And I thought, ‘well, no, why not a deal with God!’

Would it bother you if I said the lead guy reminded me of a cross between Demi Moore in G.I.Jane and Boy George??

Actually, forget I asked, I’m pretty sure I know the answer

As an aside, I love Kate Bush. I still like to put ‘We Belong’ on really high volume when I’m cleaning.

@subtle, Heh deffo Boy George, there’s another vid where he’s got hair, looks completely different but for some reason the eyeliner look makes me twitch in a good way. *snikker*
