I’ve been in a music mood today. It’s a bonus having two comp screens. It means I can work and watch a movie, piss about on IM or watch music vids or muck about in lastfm. Today I thought I would share with you one of my most favourite headbanging, moshing type jumpy sexy dancy songs. I’ve have always had this thing with wanting to own a bar so I can DJ all night and play the music I like. I used to put together music cd’s for friends gatherings and always got complimented on the playlists I put together. I love music, it does wonders for my moods.
Nightwish is an amazing band, a Finnish symphonic power metal band, formed back in 1996. Their music is unique, pulling from many elements of music, and its said they followed bands like Warlock (Doro Pesch) which is an old favourite of mine. The band now has a new vocalist, Anette Olzon, who replaced Tarja Turunen (personally I like Tarja’s voice better). I have a fetish for Finnish bands, Finland seems to spit out some damn good music these days and I am always hunting for new stuff. Nightwish, I fucking love and often sit back and listen to their stuff with my eyes closed, completely immersed in the music, it ranges from some pretty heavy stuff to some mellow music but with a heavy metal tinge.
This song is one I always love to add on a playlist, it gets people moving and even if you haven’t heard their music anymore it’s bound to get you moving if you like a bit of a racy song. This song is directed towards the lead vocalist being booted from the band. It caused a bit of controversy at the time and these days there’s alot of people either for or against the firing of their singer and her new replacement. The new replacement is the vocalist on this track, and the video is pretty clever too … watch 
I could add a few favies from this band on here but it could become a rather long post if I do that *snikker* Oh and if you don’t know what lastfm is I suggest you go check it out of you are a music freak like me, it’s a pretty cool site. I love that you referenced Warlock. I listened to them almost nonstop for a bit. Doro is just wonderful, isn’t she? I’ll check into Nightwish tonight.
