HNT #25 ~ Bear Necessities

Yes still packing & cleaning. Ugh. The house is getting very empty and camping mode is now activated.

When I left home, I left behind abuse and a shitload of memories I didn’t want to own. I also left a little piece of me with my brother & sister. And in turn they gave me something I have always treasured. I remember my brothers words, “When you miss us you can hug him and we’ll be there with you”.

I was 18 at the time. And seriously back then I thought it was kind of silly. So the gift, the bear or as I aptly named him Frasier Bear, came with me. And to this day he’s still with me. My son has kind of tried to claim him but I generally sneak him back to my room most of the time. It’s the one of three soft toys I have. I’m not big on soft toys but when they are given to me with a meaning behind them they become special. There used to be four until my rottie ate one *chuckle*  … she had a soft toy fetish.  And it’s one wasn’t too fussed about losing. Thank fuck it wasn’t this one.

With moving as always I keep my most precious things with me. Frasier is one of them. So this weeks HNT isn’t the usual theme, it’s a more personal side I don’t show much. With all the craziness going on around me at the moment he is a little bit of comfort. Memories of all the places I have carted him to. The joy my son gets out of him.

So meet Frasier … the bear that gets nekkie skin …

There’s a clicky this week too … I finally worked out how to use em with this template LOL.

both pics are absolutely lovely – poignantly so – I really like the colour on the bear against your skin on the second one. And I’m glad you still have him. I have my lassie dog … plastic face the original bit left because I woudl love him to death and my mum would patch him with whatever was handy… so he has little brown fur around his plastic face and then the Coat of Many Colours …I keep very very FEW things but some things just need to be loved.

Awww’s An Artist Exposed yes I felt that too it was odd looking at those images when I was editing them x

Thank you Selkie, I had a raggetty tiger I’d had since I was two but he fell apart bit by bit until he just wasn’t able to be stitched up anymore. Yep some things are very special, the bear is most definately one of the few things I treasure.

The healing power of a teddy bear should never be underestimated. I have a couple that my son, for reasons of his own, gave to me and they’re treasured possessions.

Love the photos – especially the click-through :)

    Happy HNT!

    OMG How cute!!!!!

I hate packing. I hate unpacking. I hate the few days of “camping” whilst in between. I just wish for the checkbook to be able to afford movers to pack all but my private things.

I have a moose that serves the same purpose. He goes in the suitcase when i have to move instead of the boxes. Happy HNT!
