Okies upgrade and tweaks done. The Blogroll now has it’s own page as the list keeps ever growing.It’s more my bookmarks for the blogs I read and try and keep up with. And it clears up the madness on the front page a little. It’s up on the main navigation bar now. I had a thought today, you know after all these months and months of reading and keeping up to date with specific blogs and occassionally adding to the list of must reads I have noticed something.

On social networking sites you always see some form of disagreement as to “how” the D/s lifestyle should be lived by opinions of what I can only see to as a disillusioned group of people. Why? Think about it. The number of blogs you read … how many of them follow the exact same rules? You see there really is “no one true way”. There are common sense things that sometimes people need to go ….oh hai i fucked up i iz stupid … we all learn. We are all unqiue. It makes me wonder how many of these people are so drawn into their own way of doing things that they can’t see nor wish to take the time to understand not everyone thinks like them. I wonder if they read blogs or genuine heartfelt honesty about how others view the world.

Seriously, everyone approaches the lifestyle with their own flavour, the key being you need to find someone you connect with. Kink is diverse if you happen to actually read alot of kink blogs, books, talk to different people. Not one person I have come across approaches their kink in the same way as someone else. Sure there may be a few similarities in a lot of ways. Thought processes can be a path of self discovery and epiphanies only to come out on the other side knowing that others have been through the same shit as stories are shared, the good, the bad, the ugly. It gives you a very small glimpse into lifestyles of different people living normal lives. We laugh, we cry, we get inflamed over things that are written. But the most important thing is we share. By writing we allow others to step into a tiny part of our lives. It might make a heart flutter, or groan. A smile may emerge or a tear of resonance. You never know, one little comment might make someone’s day or even help.

My blogroll doesn’t have people on it for the links or the popularity stakes. It has people on it I am interested in, some are amazing writers and they inspire me. Some I have grown to know on a more personal level, and I’ve been lucky enough to meet one of them. It would be wonderful to meet more of these beautiful souls.

It is a community, but its not like any other community I have had the pleasure of being involved with. These are real people with very real lives. It’s not always about kink and sex. Oh hell those best are nom nom. But you get the emotions, the hurt, the tears, the frustration, and on the opposite scale you get the lust, the passion, the joy and the love.

Yes I am a web designing arty geek who is addicted to blogging, not for just journalling but because of a sudden realisation that technology enables us to reach far more further than we ever thought possible. With that it brings opportunity and growth.

Well behind the scenes of this madness I call my blog I have been sitting here for the last two hours pissing about coding and hoping like hell in the process I wasn’t going to kill my blog. Be warned here follows a blather of geek talk …

I just upgraded to WordPress 2.7 beta 3, manually … which means I had to do backups of all the files, rewrite the config file and delete a whole pile of folders and replace them with new ones. I’ve never done it before manually so I had no idea if I was going to do it right but yaaaay it’s worked and I haven’t killed it. There’s not much any reader will notice but the admin section of the site is completely new with some very yummy new changes which I am totally loving. It also makes managing a blog this size a hell of alot easier. Anyone who loves using wordpress and is the slightest geeky will love the new changes wordpress has implemented. It takes a little getting used to which I what I am doing right now … exploring.

On a good note, I got to have a sleep in this morning! A huge one and I feel better for it. I am having random bouts of tears which seem to well up and fall out and then disappear and I really have no idea why. It’s rather odd actually. I’m feeling okay today so I have no fucking idea why that’s going on. I think I finally went to sleep at about 2.30am this morning after giving myself a very damn good orgasm lol. It’s one way I can knock myself out and make myself sleepy. Was that too much information? Oh well tough haha.

I’ve been chatting to a few bloggie friends on and off today whilst pottering about, I’ve caught up on all my blog reading and I learnt something new…. if you want the password to my protected posts pleeeeeease ask. I’m not a scary person and even though I may have a few links to sites deemed “wow” or I am looked at as some popular blogger I don’t look at myself that way. So quit telling me cause it’s weird. I’m just little old me. Those who I am linked to are more than welcome to it. I’m hairbrained so if you want it ask, I doubt I’ll say no. Those were set up because there are some things I prefer not to put on a public agenda but those who I chat to and keep in touch with are more than welcome to read those posts.
