I dropped, and over the last two days I have come back to reality, hence there’s not been much on the blog. I withdrew alot and needed time to myself which Herne recognised and gave me that space. Part of the reason I wanted and need someone who is experienced as a dominant is because I have an extremely sensitive nature. I know myself well, I know how I react.
So for the last two days I have been gathering my thoughts, had a chat with Herne about the drop, it was Herne who saw it for what it was. I didn’t want to be touched, my body felt like I had been run over from a truck and I needed “me” time. He had a very quiet wolfie.
Yesterday was much better and I became a whirlwind of gusto, got stoned and basically reinvented my house lol. After the flatmate got kicked out I decided the house needed to become a home instead of a flat so all my things I had been hoarding in my room in fear of things gettting broken and fucked with are now around my home, including a few witchy things which I will build on more. We have new herbs planted and my herby gardens are growing yay! I cleaned the kitchen out from top to bottom and I now have a nice spot in my sunroom to read and write when the urge hits, we finally have a “home”.
Researching sub drop I discovered one very interesting thing … there is fuck all on the net about it and even more surprisingly, there was nothing in any of the kink books I own. This lead me to decide that I will write my own article on it and set up a section on the blog with articles of interest so at least there is one place on the world wide web where you can find information on things such as this. So damn important and something everyone should be aware of.
Sub drop doesn’t just affect a newbie even an experienced sub/slave has to deal with it at times, one in a long time relationship, we can all experience sub drop after an intense scene and some don’t ever. It’s something that’s not often recognised. In my case I needed Herne to actually ask me if that’s maybe what I was dealing with and when he did ask it was like a light going off … that was exactly what it was. I was so involved in my own head and what I was feeling that I didn’t take the time to step back and say “hey, what’s going on here”.
The come back down to reality was intense and didn’t hit me till the next day, apparently sub drop can take up to three days to appear, usually within the first 48 hours. All those endorphins and how your body reacts at the time to the feeling of emptiness, unsettled thoughts and the general feeling of having a body that is sluggish and tired.
Anyways I would love to know your thoughts and comments and anything you would like to add … the article will be written over the next couple of days when I get a little time, if anyone has a topic they would like me to write about feel free to ask. x

There is some information on the web about sub drop. I found some information when Luvbunny first experienced it, but I don’t seem to have the sties bookmarked any more, and they aren’t showing up in a search. I think it would be great if you wrote about it.
For the record, there is even LESS information on teh web about dom drop, but that happens also.

I agree that there used to be some info around but it all seems to have disappeared and I also agree about the Dom drop, I may write something up about that.

Well I’ll be happy to send a few hundred words on Dom-drop…maybe it’s a chance for us (dragonmage, Herne and I) to to figure out how to deal with the antisocial fall out I often feel.
